Circa Winter 1999 Call Ahead For Comfort was a sort of a tribute to my best friend from high school in Chicago. She and I have been through a lot as far as what can go on between two people. This story really gave me a chance to show what the relationship between myself and my best friend is like and how I am afraid it will change over the years. I guess the best way to say it is that it encompasses all of my nostalgia and all of my fear that comes with this frienship. As it was written while working on setting, I feel that it is the best part of this story. I believe it captures all of the different parts of the south side of Chicago (except for maybe Comiskey Park) where I did the majority of my maturing. Done - Close Window |
